IVRCC Recognizes Karina Redondo-Valdez as May Star Award Recipient

The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize Karina Redondo-Valdez of Imperial Valley College as the recipient of the May Star Award, honoring individuals who demonstrate exceptional service, dedication, and commitment within their organizations and communities.

Karina serves as the Administrative Assistant for Facilities, Planning and Construction at Imperial Valley College, where she has become known as one of the institution's most valued behind-the-scenes contributors. While much of her work happens out of the spotlight, the impact she has on those around her is felt across the campus.

According to her nomination, Karina consistently goes above and beyond her job responsibilities. She is known for creating meaningful connections with colleagues, taking time to learn people's names, asking about their families, and offering assistance whenever it is needed. Her willingness to help others and her positive attitude have made her a trusted resource throughout the organization.

The nomination described Karina as one of the "hidden stars" of Imperial Valley College, recognizing her ability to handle challenges with professionalism, patience, and unwavering dedication. Whether supporting day-to-day operations, assisting coworkers, or balancing responsibilities at work and home, she approaches every situation with care and determination.

Her nominator shared that Karina is often the first person they turn to for guidance, noting that her knowledge, reliability, and commitment help keep important operations moving forward. Her contributions, while often behind the scenes, play a significant role in the success of the department and the institution as a whole.

The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce created the Star Award program to celebrate individuals who embody outstanding customer service, leadership, and dedication in the workplace. Karina's commitment to helping others and her positive influence on those around her make her a deserving recipient of this recognition.
