Edgar Macias Recognized as IVRCC October 2026 STAR Award Recipient

A passion for creating opportunities and bringing people together has earned Edgar Macias recognition as the Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce's October 2026 STAR Award recipient.

Nominated for his outstanding contributions to the Imperial County community, Edgar has built a reputation for supporting local businesses, contributing to nonprofit initiatives, and using his creativity to help others succeed.

His nomination reflects the appreciation of those who have witnessed his commitment to community service and his willingness to contribute wherever support is needed.

Creating Opportunities for Local Businesses and Talent

One of the most notable examples of Edgar's community involvement is the creation of Yo También Canto, described in his nomination as the first Imperial Valley production of its kind.

The event provided an opportunity for local performers to showcase their talents while offering small businesses and community vendors a platform to connect with new audiences.

Through this initiative, Edgar brought together different parts of the community, demonstrating how entertainment and entrepreneurship can create opportunities for collaboration.

Building on that vision, Edgar recently launched Yo También Canto Kids, expanding the experience to younger performers. The children's program creates a welcoming environment where participants can explore their talents, develop confidence, and experience the excitement of performing before an audience.

Both initiatives reflect Edgar's interest in creating spaces where community members can participate, connect, and be recognized.

A Commitment That Extends Beyond the Spotlight

While his productions have brought attention to local talent, Edgar's nomination also emphasizes the contributions he makes behind the scenes.

He has dedicated his personal time, creativity, and professional abilities to nonprofit events, community initiatives, and local organizations throughout Imperial County.

Whether assisting with event preparations, promoting a community cause, or volunteering his services, Edgar has demonstrated a willingness to help organizations accomplish their goals.

His involvement reflects an understanding that meaningful community development often depends on individuals who are willing to share their knowledge and resources with others.

Through these contributions, Edgar has helped support local entrepreneurs and community organizations working to make a difference in the Imperial Valley.
