IVRCC Recognizes Former El Centro Mayor Sonia Carter for Her Leadership

The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce recently joined the El Centro City Council meeting on February 3, 2026 to recognize Sonia Carter, former Mayor of the City of El Centro, for her leadership and service to the community.

During the meeting, IVRCC Chamber President Victor Nava presented a recognition award honoring Carter’s dedication throughout her term as Mayor, April 2025 through January 2026.

Throughout her time in office, Carter demonstrated a strong commitment to the growth and wellbeing of El Centro and the broader Imperial Valley. Her leadership helped strengthen collaboration between local government, businesses, and community organizations.
