IVRCC Advocacy Update: Attorney General Bonta Files Lawsuit Challenging New Federal Election Related Grant Conditions

The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce is committed to keeping our members informed of developments that may impact California businesses and communities.


California Attorney General Rob Bonta recently announced that California is leading a multistate lawsuit challenging new federal conditions tied to U.S. Department of Homeland Security emergency preparedness grants. According to the Attorney General's Office, the lawsuit argues that the new requirements unlawfully condition critical public safety funding on federal immigration enforcement and election administration policies.
