MediExcel Health Plan hosted a Chamber Breakfast on Wednesday, October 8, at the Cambria Hotel, connecting with Imperial Valley businesses through the Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce’s member network to present the coverage options and cost savings available to local employers and their employees.

Representing MediExcel were Michelle Salazar, Sales Associate; Erick Posada, Sales Manager; and Anthony Llompart, Chief Operating Officer, who walked attendees through how the health plan works, the services it covers, and why a growing number of Imperial Valley businesses are adding it to their benefits package.

What MediExcel Offers

MediExcel is a licensed HMO health plan serving employers in Imperial County and San Diego County, with care delivered through its own medical network in Mexicali and across the border. The plan can stand alone or be wrapped alongside an existing U.S. carrier as a lower-cost option, and it’s designed to meet Affordable Care Act requirements.

Members have access to a full range of clinical services in one location at MediExcel Medical Group Mexicali, including general medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, dermatology, general surgery, urology, cardiology, neurology, dental, vision, nutrition, and psychology, backed by a network of local specialists for more complex care needs.

For emergencies and after-hours needs, coverage extends to hospitals in Mexicali and a network of urgent care clinics throughout Imperial County, including locations in El Centro, Calexico, Brawley, and Indio, so members aren’t limited to one side of the border for care.

Connecting Businesses to Resources That Matter

Chamber Breakfasts like this one reflect IVRCC’s ongoing commitment to facilitating connections between its member network and resources that can make a real difference for Imperial Valley businesses. With Imperial County’s close ties to the border, cross-border health coverage is a benefit option many local employers may not have fully explored, and IVRCC is proud to have helped bring MediExcel directly to the business community.
