The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce brought the community together on June 18, 2026, for the 5th Annual Margarita Showdown: Battle of the Bars. Held at the historic Old Eucalyptus Schoolhouse in El Centro, California, this event has become a highlight of the year for local businesses, organizations, and residents. The Margarita Showdown combines friendly competition with community spirit, offering a lively evening filled with unique margarita creations, entertainment, and opportunities to connect.
A Night of Competition and Creativity
This year’s showdown featured four teams competing for the title of Best Margarita in Town. Each team brought their own twist to the classic margarita, showcasing creativity not only in their drinks but also in their booth presentations. The teams included:
NAF El Centro Mirage Club with their Red, White, and Boom margarita, blending coconut cream and blueberries.
Corazo Credit Union offering Corazón de Jamaica, a hibiscus-flavored margarita.
Cabos Modern Kitchen presenting Caipirinha, infused with passion fruit.
Los Vigilantes serving El Borracho, a tamarind-flavored drink.
Attendees sampled each signature margarita, enjoying the chance to vote for their favorite in the People’s Choice category. Meanwhile, a panel of judges privately evaluated the drinks to select the Judge’s Choice winner. This dual voting system added excitement and fairness to the competition.
Entertainment and Community Engagement
The event was more than just a contest. Live entertainment by Blanc Image Productions set a festive tone, while Folklórico Flores del Valle performed traditional dances that highlighted the region’s rich cultural heritage. Food trucks from Antonio’s Baja Catch 22 offered delicious options for guests to enjoy alongside their margaritas.
Networking opportunities abounded as local business owners, community leaders, and residents mingled in a relaxed atmosphere. Prize drawings kept the energy high throughout the evening, encouraging attendees to stay engaged and connected.
