The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Raising Cane’s in El Centro, officially welcoming the restaurant’s first Imperial Valley location and marking another exciting addition to the region’s growing business community.
The celebration brought together Chamber representatives, local leaders, community members, and the Raising Cane’s leadership team to commemorate the opening of the restaurant, located in El Centro. Guests gathered to celebrate the milestone and officially welcome one of the nation’s fastest-growing restaurant brands to Imperial Valley.
Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1996 by entrepreneur Todd Graves, Raising Cane’s began as a college business concept developed while attending Louisiana State University.
According to the company, Graves worked multiple jobs, including as a boiler maker in El Segundo and later fishing for sockeye salmon in Alaska, to raise funds for the first restaurant location, known today as “The Mothership.” Those beginnings continue to be reflected throughout Raising Cane’s culture and restaurant design.
Known for its quality cook-to-order chicken finger meals, Raising Cane’s has built a strong national following through its focused menu and customer-first philosophy. The company proudly describes its mission as serving only the most craveable chicken finger meals, calling it their “ONE LOVE.”
The El Centro location represents the 131st Raising Cane’s restaurant in California and the very first location in Imperial Valley, making the opening especially significant for the region.
Leadership for the El Centro restaurant includes Restaurant Leader Tony Sanchez and Area Leader of Restaurants Mark Condello, alongside a dedicated team committed to providing quality service and creating strong connections within the community.
Beyond its restaurant operations, Raising Cane’s is recognized for its extensive community involvement efforts. The company supports thousands of local organizations across the country through fundraisers, educational partnerships, and community engagement initiatives focused on strengthening the areas they serve.
The Grand Opening celebration highlighted not only the arrival of a nationally recognized brand, but also the continued economic growth and investment taking place throughout Imperial Valley. New business openings like Raising Cane’s contribute to local job creation, expanded dining opportunities, and increased regional activity that benefits the broader community.
The Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce remains committed to supporting business growth, regional collaboration, and economic development throughout the Imperial Valley Region and beyond.
