From Arizona to El Centro: K MOMO Opens New Store at Imperial Valley Mall

What began more than three decades ago as a hip hop retail store in Phoenix has now brought K MOMO to the Imperial Valley.

On August 29, 2026, K MOMO celebrated the Grand Opening of its new location at the Imperial Valley Mall, 3451 S. Dogwood Rd. #1122 in El Centro, with a ribbon cutting facilitated by the Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce. But the company’s journey to El Centro started long before opening day.

More Than 30 Years of Fashion and Culture

K MOMO was founded in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1992 by Kenneth, establishing itself around hip hop, streetwear, fashion and culture. Its early years included radio advertising, relationships with local hip hop radio stations and collaborations with artist MC Magic, helping the retailer build recognition throughout Arizona. A major transition came in 2018 when Kenneth prepared for retirement and William Yang purchased the company. Yang already knew K MOMO well. As a wholesaler, he had supplied men’s clothing to the retailer for years before eventually becoming its owner. Today, Yang serves as President and Owner alongside Executive Officer of Operations Brittany Balcerzak, Senior Officer Marco Zuviate, Head Buyer Sarah Yang and Junior Officer Angela Evangelista. 

Growth Brings K MOMO to El Centro

The El Centro opening comes during a significant period of expansion for K MOMO. The company reported opening three new locations this year, a milestone it views not simply as business growth but as a reflection of the support it has received from customers and the communities it serves. Its arrival in El Centro also has a personal connection.

According to K MOMO, what initially began as stops in El Centro while traveling between Arizona and San Diego eventually introduced the company to a community it described as being full of “culture, strength, and warmth.” That experience helped inspire K MOMO to establish a presence here and begin building relationships in the Imperial Valley.

K MOMO carries men’s and women’s apparel, shoes and accessories, but its stated mission extends beyond its merchandise. The company wants customers to feel welcome, comfortable and confident, with affordable clothing designed for everyday life.

The celebration brought together K MOMO representatives, community members and regional partners to mark the company’s newest chapter.
